I just wondered how many times you all get to ride at the moment with all this winter weather?
I get to ride maybe 2 or 3 times and he's turned out on the other days. I'm trying to get him fit for the season ahead but it doesn't seem to be happening at the moment :(

Over winter about once a fortnight. Now we're up to about 2/3 times a week. In the next 3/4 weeks I plan to be up to 4/5 times a week. Fingers crossed!

At the moment about once a week. I dont have a saddle at the moment and cant find any that fit my awkward shaped boy, he had a large haematoma on the top of his back leg that meant he couldn't be exercised for about 2 months, add to that lost shoes and I dont think I've ridden more than once a week for the last 6 months or so :(

Fly is ridden 10-12 times a week....sounds like loads, but she hurdled for 5 years, so in training for 6.5 years and she really benefits from a gentle 30 minute plod down the road and back every morning...where I am off to do very shortly. She then gets either schooled or hacked properly in the afternoon. If she doesn't have her morning hack, she churns the field up or is tense the rest of the day. With her morning hack, she just chills out. She does always have one day off each week and the routine works for her.

Starting next week, Molly will be hacking gently 4-5 times a week, just walk to start with for no more than 20 minutes just to get out and see the world and start to grow up a bit :-)

I also usually ride other horses 2-3 times a week.

Around 4 to 6 now he is nearly 5! :D

Last year only 3 or 4 max but we are up to proper schooling sessions and proper solo hacks, they grow up so fast!

My girl get exercised either 5 or 6 times a week and has done all winter :) thank the lordy for floodlight arenas! My friend usually hacks her our twice during the week to help give her a bit more variety. then she gets schooled a couple of times and longer hacks with fast work on the weekend.

Squirrel usually 6, occasionally 7. I only do 7 if say he has a fri/sat/sun off one week and I'm competingg the next Sunday as he always has a day off after a comp.

The wild thing gets between 2-6 times really..I go through phases with her - am not hugely motivated as she doesn't compete so it's whenever I feel like it/can be bothered really...

I was riding 3 - 4 times before the bad weather, then with the snow it dropped off completely and then I left the country and I've not ridden since! Although as he's not my horse I don't have the obligation to ride him and I think his owner found someone to ride him for a bit while I'm away.
I've found a riding school over here that I will hopefully get some lessons at and then when I'm home we can crack on and have a great summer!

At the moment it is only at weekends which is a shame as I really need to get him fit and build his back end up.

As the evenings get lighter I AIM to ride about 4/5 times a week - a mixture of weekdays after work and weekends - sometimes leaving the weekends free to do other things (other things??....what's that then??! :D)

I clearly need to get my butt in gear!! you're all making me feel lazy! :p
I have a 7 month old baby too so I have to find a babysitter each time and We've also been unlucky at our yard in that our teeny tiny school is half flooded.

Realistically though do you reckon it's possible to get a TB fit with daily turnout and riding 3/4 x a week? Or am I fighting a losing battle?

I've been trying to get and keep weight off me and my horse so we ride out 4-5 times a week, im lucky I've got flexi time so I can squeeze in a 45 min hack most mornings if I have no early meetings.
