How many times is a reasonable amount to try out a horse?

It tried out my most recent purchase twice before having him on full loan for the summer...then fell for him and ended up buying him! I'd deffinatley say four times is too many...if you're going to do anything, then offer him on trial for two weeks if she is actually serious about having him :)
 
Brilliant news that she wants him! Hopefully they will be very happy together :)

I find the comment from the YO worrying though, the vast majority of horses go through a testing phase and it sounds like an excuse to bail when the going gets tough IMO. Hopefully I'm wrong.
