Just curious as to what people are paying for small or large bales of straw, and what area you live in :)
I guess with having such a mild winter so far, there isn't as much of a demand and therefore I guess prices aren't too high at the moment?

£2 for a small bale from the farmer where I keep the horse but they are very tightly packed so go a long way. I remember in the past using nearly a bale every other day but now I only use one every 5 days approx. I guess it depends on how much straw is actually in a bale.

South Wales £4.50 a small bale!!!

Although our yard owner got in big ones for us yesterday only £20 which is awesome, has roughly 10/12 in it. Last yard owner charged us £40 through her for the same thing saying its the cheapest she could find!!!!

I pay £3.50 per small bale. At the yard I'm at, you have to buy it from the owners but they put it out stacked in your own area. Dunno if it's any good - it varies. Sometimes it's all husks, sometimes it's ok. If you complain they will change the bale for you though.

Southern Ireland 13 euro for a big round bale stacked in your shed and thats considered expensive here as its a tillage area and the straw was good and plentiful this year. I know people who bought for 6/7 euro in the field and then had to load and draw it home. There are very little small bales made and most of the big squares are made for the mushroom men. This is all barley straw.
