After some advise on here have ordered a bag of micronised barley . Now horse is in following work two days a week schooling either 45 mins fat work or jumping , 3 times a week a 2 hour hack , up hill down hill (liveried in a valley ) approx a mile of canter work each time broken down into 3/4 canters then either 2 days off at weekend (every other weekend ) or a slower walk hack for about 2 hours . We compete at low level sj once or twoce a month She's currently on 1 scoop of fast fibre , two scoops of healthy tum chaff , a mug of linseed and some yeast, salt , turmeric and fenugreek . Shes out 24/7 barring coming i. For riding and feeds and whilst coolong off from a ride she has haylage so out grazing 20/21 hoirs a day The turmeric has helped with her flies all summer and is great when I need to hide her calmer in it for loading /clipping etc . How much work would you say she's in light/med work ??
And now how much barley would you recommend, she drops weight really quickly in the winter so want to get this sorted before she starts dropping off she's 15.2 apex welsh cob built like a warmblood
