HOW MUCH blood?!

When a dog catches a claw?! I couldn't believe how much it bled when the little chi caught his claw and yanked it half off this morning. Thankfully a trip to vets just before they shut for Xmas was still feasible and the dog is now sitting on my lap looking very sorry for himself with a big silly bandage on his back leg.

No christmas partying for my little man!

Almost...and he insists on sticking his leg out at an angle and doing the 'sick dog walk' so everyone can see he's been in the wars.

When he thinks theres no one looking he is right as rain and perfectly able to walk on his over bandaged leg - its seriously about half as long again as his normal legs! Lol

Oh yes, nails and ears, both resemble a bloodbath when damaged! And the limping - you would think they have broken a bone! I keep a pot of potassium permanganate handy, very useful if dabbed on a nail thats been cut to close to the quick. For more serious nail breaks nearer the nail bed, I do like to bandage the foot to allow clotting and to prevent the wound reopening.
