How Much Bone...

Just wondering how much bone all your horses have?
I measured my rising 4yr old today ready to order him some knee boots and he has 14.5"!!!! is it just me or is that a massive amount lol. He is 17.2 at present.

Shadow has 9.5inches I think for a modern sporty D I was quite impressed when I measured that

Deefa if you are measuring for knee boots I imagine you are taking a measurement from above the knee? Measuring for 'bone' is taken just below the knee.

If you are measuring below the knee then you definately have a heavyweight hunter on your hands!!!

Ok, i am officailly blonde - yes did it at the narrowest point ABOVE the knee. Will do it below when i go later!
Thought it sounded alot!!

Dublin has nearly 11 inch below knee, He is Irish draught X and near 17h

haha...I did wonder if you'd measured the wrong part mind you, I used my weight tape the first time I did it...the inches measurement starts farther along the tape, so I got 4.5 inches the first time I measured

WHERE did you measure him? If he really DOES have 14.5" of bone you could put him in for a Guiness world record!

Dont worry, was being a tad simple. measured above instead of below his knee! He has 10" of bone now i have done it right lol
