anyone know what the difference is, a full size headpiece & brow band is too small for jay but nose band & cheeks seem fine , but the extra full nose band & cheeks are too big lol

A lot of the times it depends on the make eg, my 15.2 mare takes a XF in a stubben bridle but a cob-full in a Jeffries!

Jeffries browband Full is 15 1.2 inches, XF is 16 1/2
Headpiece (longest inc throatlatch) Full is 46 inces, XF is 50 inches

Definatly depends on the make but as a guide I have found that my TBxIDxWB can take a cob/full but my hoofing great loan child thats ID and 17.3hh is defo an XF and it gives him loads of room.

Derby house have got a very useful bridle size guide here:

I've just bought a couple of spare extra-full browbands for my girl as she's got a wide head too, but the xf bridles are normally too big for her.
I got a nice bridle made up by my local saddler with xf brow and noseband, full size headpiece, and cob size cheekpieces. I've had to put extra holes in the noseband though!
