How much do you pay for lessons?

£30 an hour with a dressage instructor who comes to my yard. I think she's an AI and she competes to Advanced Medium, and she understands that some things I have to do my way (my pony lost her confidence so needs lots of walk breaks, pony nuts when she tries and no noseband).
At the riding school down the road for us they charge £37.50 for a flatwork lesson on their horses and an extra tenner if you want to jump!

I pay £30 for a dressage trainer to work with me.....ridden to Grand Prix level (instructor not me!!!)

I charge £20 an hour i'm an AI. I aim for the poorer end of the market as not everyone can afford £25-30 an hour for a lesson.
Works I have loads of clients...some do half hour for a tenner.

I pay £45.00 (£10.00 is for the use of their horse) for a 40 minute lesson at Vale View. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for - a quality instructor and a quality horse:)

I pay £25 for 45 mins with dressage instructor whose ridden at Intermediare I. Drive an hour to her yard once a week. Not sure what quals she's got but have been with her for years. She knows me and horse and knows our strengths and weaknesses. Would change for the world.

£15 for a group lesson, £30 for a private lesson (both 45mins). There's also an option to have a private jumping lesson with the YM who's a profressional producer and SJ by trade which is £40. My instructor is fully BHS qualified, but the yard hasn't been BHS registered for about 5 years and as a RI she prefers it that way. She's been teaching for 20 years or more as far as I know.

I pay £15 for 45 minutes (providing my own horse and menage... the menage belongs to a friend and we meet there). I'm not even sure what her qualifications are these days - she taught me at pony club about 15 years ago so when I got my horse in 2009, this instructor seemed the obvious choice. She's excellent for the all round improvement I am looking for, very positive and encouraging and I feel like she really knows and cares about my horse.

Not very much - £15 for 45 mins own horse and menage. My instructor has equine quals but I don't think teaching is one of them, he's a friend who competes at a much higher level than me and is considered a bit of a problem solver by virtually everyone we know!

He gets great results out of me and my horses and will stay until we solve an issue regardless how long it takes at no additional cost. I made him put his price up as I felt I was taking the something out of him. Plus he gives sharer a short lesson after for a fiver which means she can afford some tuition beyond any help I can give her as she is on pocket money budget!!

Been having lessons from him since he was 17, was a bit of a ball ache having to go and collect him as he couldn't drive!! He takes no nonsense from me re my nerves which is what I need and at the end of the day I can't learn from someone who can't do it and do it better than me. (He's also quite easy on the eye!)

I pay £20 for an hour on my own horse at RI's yard.

I'm not quite sure what level she is qualified at, but if def qualified as she teaches a lot of PC and RC (she was RC chairman for a few years).

I don't think she has competed at a particularly high level, but she has an excellent eye and has helped me no end. She is also very enthusiastic, I have been taught by some very uninterested but higher level RIs in the past.

I pay £12.50 for 1/2hr which is enough for horse ATM, I'm not sure level instructor is qualified upto but he is qualified. Main thing is I like how he teaches and it's fun xx

£15 for 30 mins - AI instructor.

shes really good, and totally listens to horse and rider...unlike some ive known in the past that just push and push.... !

Cant wait to start up lessons properly :)

I pay £22 an hour which includes school hire of £5. My trainer is a BD registered trainer and she keeps her horses at the same yard so its convenient for us both. I think she charges £28 for 45min if she has to travel. She has competed up to PSG.

Have been having weekly lesson since start of Jan and we are improving every week. My trainer sometimes sits on him for the first 30mins to school him. We are currently winning intro tests and just placed 3rd in our first prelim.

I pay £25 for a individual lesson at my yard with the best instructor ever! It is for 45 mins but we always go over. He has ridden at the paralymics so is no slouch in the saddle!
I also have occasional lessons at a riding school near here, £47 for 45mins on a lovely stallion competing at elem with a lovely riding instructor (not one of their top ones, but not a junior one either - his style suits me well).

I'm paying €50-€60 per hour which is about £45-£50ish. Thats with a top eventer, I think it is worth it though!!

£15 for 45mins, not sure what level it is that she competes at, she events. Her strength I think is with youngsters and difficult horses, she's fab, my fave instructor :D

Ah, forgot to say, that's £15 for a 45min private lesson, £10 for a half hour private lesson. She comes to our yard as she has a lot of clients here!

£20 per hour for flatwork at my yard - qualified AI. If we go to another arena for sj lessons a joint lesson is £15 each.

I don't have regular lessons (no transport and simply can't afford to do it on a regular basis) but the last lessons I had were £40.00 for 45 mins with trainer that competed at CCI** level, not sure what qualifications he had, but to me that doesn't really matter, its how they teach and understanding you and your horse that is important as well as giving you confidence, being patient and of course enjoying your lessons.

and yes.... I'm still bloody useless :D:D:D

£25 for half an hour with a BHSII, doesn't matter what BHS qualifications she has though as it's worthless IMO - she's a good instructor and that's what counts. Has ridden at 3* eventing and currently rides at Adv Med BD (I don't jump anyway so it also doesn't matter about that side of things, either).

£25 for half an hour on the mechanical horse - not done that for ages, must do again, it's fab!

I'm also lucky though as I tend to ride at the end of the day as her last lesson, so she normally gives me about 45 mins :D

Next one tomorrow - if I could have two a week I'd be very happy, but one a fornight has to suffice!

Edit:
Forgot to say, most expensive I've had was £65 for 45 mins with a guy who comes over from Portugal - some of the best lessons I've ever had, real lightbulb moments, completely changed my riding in one session. Would do it regularly if I could afford it, and had my own horse to do it on!

I pay £20 for an hour and my instructor is an AI, and she competes regulalry in dressage etc.

BUT.....we stay there HOURS after the lesson, horse gets a big fat haynet while we chat (other people for lessons there too!) drink gallons of tea, she gives us loads of choccie biccies too!

We can wash our horses there as well, for show prep etc.

My instructor also comes to watch shows we are in when she can as well.

Gone are the days where I used to pay £10 for an hour's private lesson! I pay £25 for a half hour private, or an hour group lesson.
