Just curious but how much does everyone pay to get their horses shod/ trimmed?

When my mare had a full set it was £60 but then we moved yards and I took her backs off and now its just over £50 (with a different farrier)

How much does everyone else pay??

£65 for full standard set. However if horse particularly large or wearing something non standard eg heart bars etc a fair bit more.

everything has gone up recently. trim is £35 would need to check the chequebook to see what the last set of shoes was, but its between £60 and £65.

(the cost of fuel is factored into that- my farrier travels the best part of 80 miles to get to me...! :D)

£20 for a horse trim, £15 for a pony trim. Mine is a traditional farrier.

I once made the mistake of calling out a barefoot farrier who tried to charge me £40 per horse.

I pay £75 for a new set with road pins on the back. i have the natural balance roll top shoes, which i know cost more but suit the horse. i also usually pay £20 for trims but i got it cheaper this week as a treat. I am happy to pay a bit more because I have a fab farrier who I know can help with any problems like pus in the foot. In that case he is a lot cheaper then the vet. he also puts up with me ringing him when my horses are lame, advice over the phone is free.

£25 for a trim for my filly but she's always the only one ever being done and there's not many farriers come to the area as it's a bit in the middle of nowhere

I was paying £70 for a full set, and then £55 for refits (what a joke) so i swiftly moved to another brilliant farrier who charged me £34 for 2 front shoes and back trimmed, also advised me about taking his back shoes off so even better :)
Came up yesterday as my horse lost a shoe because of the mud, came out straight away and didnt charge a penny!!! (Put a part worn shoe on haha)

Well from last bill I worked out- £60 full set shoes (£65 if only doing one set), £10 a trim - (£15 if only doing one). £65 full set 2stud holes in each (£70 if only one being shod). :) We are only just down the road from our farrier though so not sure if he charges more for travelling to clients further away I would imagine fuel would be a pretty substantial cost now :(

Varies, and seem to get a bulk discount but generally £40 for refits and £50/£55 for a new set, £10 for a trim, although sometimes this gets thrown in for free. Farrier is brilliant with my horses, comes on weekends and evenings, and has been known to catch my horse when I can't get near it! oh and he's always early!

£30 for both mine to be trimmed. Trimmer is fantastic and the horses love her! My horse is a shiverer and she takes as much time as he needs. Really could ask for anyone better to do their feet.
