Clip my own, but when I have done others (friends) I charge £20-25 for hunter clip, full (everything off) add £5, chaser and bib (depending on size) £10-£15.

The prices you spotted are rather steep, but then again people will pay it....

Our Yo charges £35 for a full clip £25 for a chaser clip

£60 is WAYYYY too high, because I am in the south east which is one of the most expensive areas for literally everything

thats whats odd jess, mostly up here in the north east seems things are really cheap (shoes £30-35, months rent at a REALLY nice smart yard £65), cheaper than where i moved from, £60 just seemed to be unusual(!)

thats what I thought see here shoes are £75 and a very nice smart yard is at least £110. Feed and shavings are also more expensive! so for north east they should actually eb charging less then they charge for clipping down here

I think you are generalising somewhat ! I don't pay anything like £75 for a set of shoes, or £110 for a smart yard ! I think there are just more people looking to take advantage in the South-East

To the original post....£60 is waaaay too much for a full clip. The most I paid was £35 and I thought that was too expensive ! I do my own now, but would charge someone else around £25 for a full clip.

Because I'm desperate for cash I'm clipping horses for people on my yard and other student yards at college, I charge £15 for whatever clip they want (as long as it's a hunter or a full, I tend to cock up everything else) and I've got a few good friends who I loan my clippers to for £5 each time they use them as long as they're just used on their horse and this covers the cost of having my blades sharpened

I have my own clippers, and i lend them to my firends so long as they cover the cost of sharpening the blades.

I love right on the south coast, shoes here are £60 a set, I'm full livery @ my yard but supply my own feed and I pay £57 a week including hay & shavings.

£25 - £30 a clip depending what clip you want. This appears to be the normal price around my area.

I bought a set of clippers a few years ago & they have easily paid for themselves now.

At our yard it is £50 for a full clip inc legs and trim up
£40 for a hunter and blanket
£35 for a trace or chaser
£20 for a bib clip.

You do need to take into consideration the time it takes (and sometimes takes 2 people) and the possibility that the blades/clippers might get damaged which could cost anything up to £300 to replace.
