How much do you rely on others?

When I'm doing shift work , kids will do the mucking out and eldest son brings both his pony and mine in . Has done since he was 13 , but is now able to do it unaided by OH . News of his skills are beginning to spread it seems as has recently been headhunted by my neighbour to do hers when she is away .

On a private yard with friend and yard owner. My friend and I help each other out fairly equally, she will do some mornings, I will do others, saves getting up at the crack of dawn every day :) it works nicely and when yard owner is back she will usually feed in mornings if we make feeds up.

All seem to be very happy with this arrangement, this helps us all a lot as friend works full time and starts early and I have uni early some mornings.

I do everything myself. My husband will feed and poo pick on rare occasions, but no very often.Either he or my mum come to PC with me because getting two small children plus two ponies ready can be a nightmare.[Ponies are miles easier than children, they don't lose gloves, hairnets ect].

I have a brilliant arrangement with a guy with a 17hh2 ID mare. He does mornings and I do afternoons during the week and we try to only go up once a day at weekends too.

I gave blood today and the nurse said the usual thing about no heavy lifting and I wasn't looking forward to mucking out so to get to the yard and find my mate had done it for me made my day! I occasionally muck out for him if I have time. Good arrangement. :)

I don't actually rely on others as such but me and two ladies at the yard help one another out which is a good arrangement, but I used to manage happily myself and could manage again if I did not have the help, it is nice to have a day off in the week, but I can manage. I love to see my girl most days myself anyway, miss the cheeky little mare :)
