I am just interested (and being nosy!) to hear what you and your OH tend to spend on one another for birthdays and xmas.

I would think £100 each is average but may be wrong, so over to you lot :D

sounds tight I know, but my family have a thing whereby you are only allowed to spend £5 on any present and preferably to spend that £5 in a charity shop. OH thinks its a good idea - stops you going broke at christmas!

then for birthdays we spend up to £50 with the exception of a big birthday (30 or 40 etc)

well we didnt get each other xmas presents
and i just spent £45 on him as he said he wanted something, so i bought it

im waiting for my present back though haha, but he hasnt been paid yet so...

and birthdays, i dont know yet, as he is 21... so its a biggie...

Sounds like a bloody good idea to me :D

ermmmmm - last birthday OH got a brand new motorbike £11,500 approx - my wedding prezzie was a little tb and a brand new custom made horse box - picking it up in the morn.... no idea how much that cost..... crimbo - got a made to measure ideal saddle - no idea what that cost - he got a new air pistol and a days clay pigeon shooting and i have just spent £1200 quid on a new gun and "things" for him for easter.

So basically - we are a pair of spoilt brats with far too much money and NO sense at all - but then he works 18 hours a day, 7 days a week and i used too!

Lol, why not if you can hun, I would, I am assuming you ticked the box for £250 plus :D

Moggy - its not the inital cost that is the problem..... its the fact that i am now sat at 3 degees on the sofa with the patio windows open, and oh shooting out off the lounge into the garden, which is spot lighting his "targets"- when i want a bulb changing i get told to ask the handy man.... set up a hunter field trial in the back wood.... he cant wait !

No fixed sum, depends if either of us really wants something specific - eg, the spoilt girl that I am got a pair of made to measure show chaps for my birthday yesterday!
But we didn't spend much at Xmas as we'd just had a trip to the USA where we spent a fortune on tack etc :)
