How much do you think this horse is worth?

Difficult to say as not much info given, however he is very inconsistent in the contact and doesn’t look very happy. Nice paces, nice horse. Worth going to look at, and have someone else ride him. I would say anywhere from £4k-7k

Agree with the others, a super looking and moving horse, but more details needed to give a price, has this horse competed? if so at what level, also would certainly want to see a better rider on his back to see how the horse really would work.

A lovely mover. Agree that a better rider would have been less distracting from the horse :D

The pricing at £10k looks about right to me in current climate from recent adverts. I am no expert, but I have been looking closely at dressage horse values due to claiming LOU in case my boy's value was contested. So I would say horse has a track record, moves well, good age, so could go far.

The video wouldn't excite me to view the horse especially at that price  But the advert makes him look a lot more spectacular and looks like a completely different horse!!

The way things are - recession wise, i'd think up to 5k. As others have noted, I don't think the video shows the horse off to its best advantage and maybe with a different jockey on top it would be easier on the eye

I'd be looking at £4k for him, looks like a consistent scoring Novice horse from his results with the one rider over several years, puts up with an average rider from the video so will suit plenty of amateur riders who just want to have a play at the lower levels on a reasonably smart looking horse. I wouldn't judge value by asking price on ads, people, especially dressage people from what I see at the minute, are still vastly inflating their asking prices but aren't selling at that price so either keep the horse or sell at something a lot more realistic. One client of mine paid £1,200 for a horse advertised at £5k, and was probably spot on with its value at that moment in time.

Hi all,

new here so was just being nosey really, but from what could see he appeared at first sight quite inconsistent in the contact for an 8yr old and assume dressage horse, I would have said if asked that he works like a decent well started 5 yr old.

plus this is a buyers market and for 10-15k I would want something that was atleast competing at Elem and working at Med at home, with decent %'s. So even though he appears to be very straight forward I personally wouldn't part with 10k for him! But I would part with 5K if he was good in all other ways too, i.e would hack out, as some dressage trained horses are awfull out hacking as haven't really done it.

All the best Bumblesticks

Horse is beautiful and a good age, but agree that the rider doen't do him any favours. Advert doesn't say where he scored his 77% but he does look as though he could do better than novice with the right rider, although in my experience it's easier to get the higher percentages in lower level dressage.

Personally with the market the way it is now I don't think I'd want to pay over £4k for him, but then I don't generally go for ready made horses as a rule.

Lovely looking horse but his record isn't great. A lot of scores in low 60 and high 50%s so I doubt he'd manage to get qualifying percentages these days. Makes our 6 yr old look very cheap, his record is much better than that!!
