a small bale of hay is going to cost this year? (lol or even a round bale)

We pay £5.50 for a small bale. "Stirling" hay which is very good quality and more densely packed is £6.50 a bale. Large round bales up here are £45.

The other feed merchant is cheaper at £4.50 a bale but the quality wasn't as good when I tried it and Min refused to eat it!

(this was last winter's/ current prices-
Don't even want to think about how much it's going to cost this winter....)

Well at the moment the hay barn is filling up nicely so not expecting to large a rise in hay prices but all depends when they large greens can get cut but farmer has to wait for the village commitee to give permission for it to be cut

We pay anything from £2.50-£3.50 a bale. I dread to think what they may cost if we don't get a break in the weather soon so the hay crop can be got in. I would think the price will double at least if the weathet stays as it is.
