We had a mini road trip to a big pet store today. They have scales, so we popped the boys on. Bearing in mind they’re only 6 months, they’re already 15.4kg+Mitch and 15kg-Goose. Goose is solid and compact, Mitch is tall and less square, very different looking dogs. Mum was small, dad bigger.

How much are your adults? Bear is 26kg usually, he is oversized for the breed, IMO. The weight chart suggests 25kg as an upper limit. ?

No CT both work hard and are both kept on the light side due to health problems but vet always says he wished more of his patients looked like them
The health problems we’ve had with than does mean we’re going back to cockers though we do have a cracking sprocker that we bred last year

I’m sorry you’ve had health issues ? I’ve had 2 die from cancer, one of whom also snapped both cruciates. I’m kind of stuck on the breed, although I would look at cockers in the future.

10 month old friends is around 20kg. Solid muscle, not a peck of fat on him.
100% mental, no off button.

Im hoping ours end up at this weight. Mitch is lots taller but only .4kg heavier than Goose. We’ve been very insistent with ensuring calm time, although Goose tries to keep going til he falls asleep, mouth around toy, proper baby still.

My lot know about quiet time in the evening but they’re allowed free rein in the garden if it isn’t filthy weather and they don’t stop. I’m hoping they don’t get loads bigger. 26kg applied suddenly to one’s bad knee isn’t ideal. ?
