Just after a bit of advice.
Been offered a lorry to borrow, if i get on ok with it and lad starts getting out for lessons etc i may get to the point where i want my own..
So anyone with a standard cheap run of the mill lorry.. How much does it cost you to run?
Thanks

Mine is an 1990 reg Renault master conversion. It came with an MOT but i had to tax it £190 and insure fully comp with breakdown cover £320 ish. Costs about £35-40 to fill tank with diesel and i use it about 3 times a month locally.
The MOT cost is the same as a car/van so about £60 (i think) Mine will also need a service this year so im expecting about £300-400 as may need some repairs. So anually approx £1000 (with service at garage) not including diesel. May be able to do some of the servicing ourselves so may save some money there. Hope that helps!

i was hoping to budget £100 per month for it, sounds like that would be about right from what you have said.
Excellent thanks for the breakdown

For my older G reg. couldnt afford the fully comp insurance so just had T, F & T - cost me about £400 (had no no claims bonus and was a 18 year old driver)
That used to cost me £50 for petrol - to nearly fill it, i always stopped when i hot £50! And that was when petrol was about 89p per litre.

My newer box is a R reg, and the fully comp insurance is just over £300 a year. MOT is £57.70, road tax has just cost me £195 for a year.
Its a diesel and when i filled it up with cost me about £45. Sees to last a while also.

Repairs are pretty much the same as you would expect for a car.
