Looking to buy a horse, ad says tack/rugs available at extra cost, how much would you expect to pay?
Its a saddle, bridge, martingale, bit and 5 new rugs?

I need a basic idea to suggest (or haggle down to

well no but they arnt that dear, usually to pay extra for the tack its usually for a really expenise english leather saddle, or a pessoa or something like that - at the end of the day it depends how much you want the horse and wether you feel its a reasonable price or not...

How long is a piece of string. A second hand bridle is not worth much at all. They would be lucky to get £20 for it on ebay. A second hand bit is only worth £20 if it was a very expensive trendy make. The saddle, depending on its make and age could be as high as £400. The rugs are unlikely to be brand spanking new because no-one buys new rugs and doesn't use them. Only Fal or Horseware are expensive and that is only the heavyweight turnouts. A good quality turnout might be worth £20-£40 second hand. That's if they laundered it, which would cost them £20 per rug !

Buy the horse first. If you like the saddle and it's comfy for you and looks like it fits the horse offer them £250 for it. I'm pretty ruthless about second hand tack.
