Both my horses are being put on fast fibre for the winter. Allen and page are a little vague with their measurements... i wont be feeding either of mine a whole stubbs scoop of FF and a scoop of chaff for sure! So, what are you feeding it to and in what quantity? So i can get a better idea.
Thanks!

I'm feeding the old boy two stubb's scoops.

It's a mixture of straw and unmolassed beet and can be used as a filler for a fatty to carry supplements or a total forage replacer for an oldie......so feed according to your individual need :).

Our shire x cob is having 3/4 scoop twice a day at the minute.

The old girl is having two stubbs scoops which is equivalant to two wedges of hay according to A+P

I feed a shaken off pet scoop or less per meal, add tasty Dengie chaff and micronised linseed, This is plenty for my 465 kg in winter and in light work, with a sprinkle of oats if he is a good boy!
Being barefoot he also gets magnesium and minerals.
I also substitute FF partly with non molassed sugar beet [speedy beet] for the FF, again no more than a pet scoop in total per feed.

Mine gets about 2 cupfuls spread over two feeds but he also gets two cups of sugar beet PER feed so thats why he doesnt have more.
With it he has 1/2 scoop of Alfa-A oil & 1 scoop cond nuts. for a TB in medium work.

My boy's a healthy weight of 385kgs at the moment and he gets 500gms (half a kilo) of FF once a day, using this as a 'mixer' to carry all his vits and mins (he's barefoot and on bespoke dose of vits and mins now after a forage analysis that's been done so i'm not feeding what i don't need!).

1 bag of FF will last us 40 days.

My mare gets 2 cups of FF every night with a scoop of Happy Hoof, she is the right weight at the moment so won't be feeding any more.

Mine gets 1 mug of fast fibre and 1/2 a mug of linseed meal plus supplements. When he's hunting or eventing I add a mug of oats. He's a 15hh connie weighing 455kg.
