How much for livery/rent?

Hey, I was just wandering how much a reasonable livery fee to keep my horse in a 3 acre field with a stable with water etc. would be?

The owner asked for £20/week which I think is too much, seeing as there's no school and will be no other horses or people there.
I was paying £26/week for grazing, stable, indoor + outdoor schools, jump field and xc course at the last place I kept him.

Also, I'm planning on getting a foal/yearling to keep him company and bring on, so I might ask the owner if I could just rent the field from her as this would probably be cheaper than two liveries.
So how much would you think rent on 3 acres with two stables should be?

It sounds reasonable to me me TBH. Most places round us are over £30 per horse per week. Often £15 per week, grass livery with no stable. So it does not sound a rip off. I think uyou were very lucky to get so much for so little at your last place.

I'd say thats about right, prices vary hugely and whilst I have been on a couple of yards with facilities and paid £20 and £22 a week respectively, looking around at other DIY livery yards the costs can be a lot more than that - I was quoted £55 a week for assisted DIY at one place, only had a 30x60 outdoor with 1 bale of shavings per week and ad lib hay included in the price, restricted grazing.

I know someone who pays £25 / week per stable for that set up.

You actually pay a premium to have your own yard (ie no one else there) not less.

id ask for a price to rent the field, not per horse, may get a good deal

I pay £118 per calendar month (think it's £27.50 per week) for 3 acres, 2 stables, water and electric. I keep my two horses there and it is my 'own' yard, no school etc but great hacking.

I think thats cheap. I pay more per box to rent a lot of boxes and land. Yards round here start at that a week also without a school / arena!

I'll ring her and ask about renting the whole field, but if not I'll just go with the £20/week.

I think you've got a really good deal there. We pay £38 per week for DIY Livery for an acre paddock and a field shelter.

I think that is a good deal particularly in Gloucestershire.
When I kept my horse in Glos I was paying £25 a week for just the stable and field, no water I had to fill up buckets to put out in the field myself etc.
