Got fat and bust the zips on my long boots ??
They’re off for repair but I should really get some I’m not squishing myself into.
I have lost count of how many pairs I’ve tried now.
If they fit around the calf they’re too big around the foot/ankle and if they fit around the foot/ankle then they only just do up around the calf and just don’t feel too comfortable.
Are they likely to stretch much? It’s been so long since I bought new boots I can’t remember!
Will I have better luck with short boots and gaiters?

Did you try a pair of mine? Trying to recall..... if so, I can inspect tomorrow for exact size if that helps?
My long boots eases up a bit on the calves but not as much as some friends do.

I do find I prefer jodh boots and gaiters in the summer as better support for my ankle.

Seem to recall I did when I hopped on B in the paddock last year?
Ariats are one of the ones that seem to fit better, always the expensive ones ? if you don’t mind double checking the size I might try and hold out for an eBay bargain

Try Ariat Grasmere ones. I've had mine for 20+ years. They've been worn in all sorts of weather and not particularly coddled, either.
Because the closures are laced as well as closed with a velcro tab at the top, the fit can be adjusted to each individual leg/s.

Equitector do good wider boots, if they’re still going. I think all long boots are a bit baggier at the ankle but these ones have a good range so should have one to fit calf width and length if nothing else. They’ve got elastic around the calf end of the boot too. Had mine years although only wear them for comps now. Much prefer boots and gaitors.
