hello :D:D:D

my horse has been in the last couple of days as the weather has not been great, just wondered how much hay you give yours ??

im feeding my boy 8 lbs of dampened hay (he wont eat it dry ) atm, do you think this is enough ? he has good grazing and is out for around 10 hours and in from 6-8am, and he has a feed.(hi-fi and balancer)

he has 4lbs at 6pm then another 4lbs at 9pm.

also how much do you feed in winter ?? i roughly feed 12-14lbs.

my horse is in at the moment as shes not allowed out for a few weeks so no grass at all so has hayledge 14lb in morning and 14lb for dinner
if going out would have like 5lb with breakfast [goes out hour after]
and 10-12lb for dinner

Weightwise? I don't have a clue.

If the horses are just stood in for the day away from the flies and the heat then they'll get a section when they come in, one at lunchtime and maybe another about 4pm depending when they come in and go out - it varies.

If they are in for the night they'll get a third to half a bale each, and if they need more when I check at about midnight they'll get the same again.

In winter I just fill the feeders and keep them filled. I have no grazing through the winter at all.

my pony isnt on hay yet otherwise he would be obese!
when he is in at night he has 1 sec at 5pm ish and then another 2 at about 7:30pm
