Basically, I am wondering how much hay to put in field and how many times a day???

I have an arab who will only be hacking at weekends for a few hours, due dark nights, and a shetland pony who is her companion. They live out 24/7 and live in Scotland. They are rugged up too.

They share a field with a fat cob who may hack out once a week.

I have square bales and have about 2 ton at the minute.

So how many bales/slices for the arab a day and for the shetland a day? And for the cob? So that it is fair and I give enough for my two and other lady gives enough for her cob.

Thanks in advance

I cant get big bales. I already have two ton of square bales so not buying anymore yet.

My arab is in good condition, maybe slightly round but good for coming into winter. Shetland round, as usual.

Cob very very fat!

My arab gets a 2 handfuls of chaff and a handful of pony nuts at night at the mo.

Grass is good ... but they seem to get very grumpy with each other when they no it is feed time so thought that may be because of lack of grass???
