thinking of upgrading to a horsebox. i have just bought a 16.3 with a big powerful front end who likes to stick her head in the air when loading! how much headroom would you have minimum?.ive had problems loading her in our trailer, and want to buy a new 3.5 tonne box that will give her less excuses. has anyone got recommendations on a particular make with a good size horse area and the specific height measurements that would be ideal? never had this problem before as all our horses have been under 16h! thanks guys

7ft6 is the recommended height for up to 18hh, but you need to look out for a lorry that has decent head room as they get to the top of the ramp. So many have a piece coming down at the top, for the top of the ramp to lean against - in some lorries I have seen that be more than a foot. Which then impacts on high head carriage making it quite dangerous as they have to drop their head at the highest part of the ramp.
