Hi all, im a total newbie but in desperate need of advice! I was given a Cardanel saddle back last year by a close friend. unfortunately it doesn't fit my ever growing youngster! We intend to sell this saddle to buy an adjustable, but we cant find anything about this saddle on the internet...and we've trawled and trawled through various websites! It is an 18" Cardanel 'Olympian' dressage saddle 8" D ring to D ring in black and in very good condition, it has always been cleaned and kept covered. a local saddler offered us £250 and we're sure its worth much more! I'm not looking for mega bucks i just dont want to let it go for pennies and would like enough money to buy a saddle for Lucas. If anyone has any information or knows where i could take it in the Manchester area to have it valued or sell it it would be much appreciated! photo below :) Thankyou. Laura x

Try their website

http://www.cardanelsaddles.co.uk/s-olympian-dressage.htm

they make fairly good Walsall saddles, £250 is low but as a rough guide we in the trade are only obliged to offer a third of it's value, or there abouts, always best to try to sell privately. Contact cardanel and ask them their current prices if I were you, hope this helps, Oz :)

I'm not sure on price although £250 looks a bit low to me!

(just be careful the thread doesn't get deleted, I put a similar thread up when my saddle wasn't even for sale, I was keeping it! And I got an infraction)

looks worth far more than £250 - is it flocked do you know? or cair/flair?
i'd try selling in local papers and vets etc. try your riding club, It looks really good!

my saddler gave me guide rule for saddle value of 50% of brand new price, or 50% minus £100 for ebay. It's usually not far out for what you see saddles advertised at privately. Obviously a saddler will give you a lower price as they will want to make a profit.
