For a 14.1hh 17yr old pony, good to hack alone and in company, competition pony in the past doing xc, dressage and sj placed most times. Now going to the occasional local show sj and dressage still being placed. Good to load, shoe, clip. Very quick and strong. Had a tendon injury in the past but wasn't out of work for long and doesn't affect him now
He is in the middle in my siggy.
I bought him at the weekend :) and am just looking for peoples opinions, am not thinking about selling him at all. Need to change on his insurane from on loan to owned and how much to insure him for :)

Maybe £1500 tops?

But for the purpose of insurance, you can't insure him for any more than you paid for him, and if the time comes for a death claim you will be required to produce the original receipt for him. Also, the price of horse insurance is based on the sum insured. So if he is really only insured for the purposes of vets fees and you aren't bothered about recouping the purchase price in the event of death then if you insured him for less (say £500) then the insurance would be much cheaper. In almost all policies the sum insured does not affect the amount of benefit for vets fees or public liability. Just depends what exactly you want insurance for.

and dont forget to declare the tendon injury - after the earlier post where the insurers are trying to get out of a claim by referring to another injury not declared at the time of insurance - which OP hadn't thought relevant (and neither would I until I read her post!)
