How much linseed meal to feed for joints?

I've been feeding it to ours mainly for coat condition and been giving a decent cupful a day. Think similar for joints. I know some feed extra to aid weight gain though.

And here is says you can feed whole linseed un-cooked. http://www.understanding-horse-nutrition.com/flax-seed.html
I thought that un-cooked was a big no-no? Has that changed now?

No, you don't feed uncooked whole linseed, but micronised is fine. The milling process releases the glycosidase which are responsible for the production of cyanide. This process renders the ground linseed harmless when eated by the horse, or so I believe.;)

I feed a big mug of it to my girl every day. She's not old, but has a lot of miles on her jumping clock. I'm sure that she feels the benefits of it though, as she's been the quietest, the most well behaved and contented this winter. She's also been very willing to work and great to ride too.

Thank you very much, that's really helpful. I was getting confused.
