I am having to make the very sad decision to retire my mare i have had for over ten years and have decided it is time to buy a new horse.

I have been looking at the adverts on the internet and cant believe the prices that they are up for!

Now i know i am out of touch with prices but how much do people think i will pay for the following:

13.2-14.2hh 5-10yrs M/W gelding. To do local shows and RC. Can be green but needs to be really sensible as i am not overly confident, but am an experienced rider.

So.....how much do i realistically need to spend to get that and anyone have any ideas where i find him?!

I am not in a rush to find something and will be seriously looking towards the end of the summer.

Thanks

About 2k I think - try New forest pony society website or NFED lots of nice ones on there and reasonable.

I also recommend NFED if you're down south, it's where I found my gorgeous boy. As per the other responses £2k doesn't seem unreasonable for temprament if you're willing to put some work in

Have a look on line - there are some really good dealers just be careful where you go etc. You can transport them back over for about £300 door to door. If you buy in somewhere like goresbridge you will be able to claim back your flights and transpor cost. Just an idea if money is an issue.
