Put a stick up to Stinkers today as she has definately gone up in the last fortnight and she is most definately now 16.1hh. She will be 3 in just over 6 weeks. Mum and Dad are both 16.2hh and she is 1/4 ID 3/4TB

So how much more growing can I expect - in an ideal world I'd be happy for her to stay where she is but I don't think thats going to happen

good question. depends on how well fed she is etc.. I am thinking my nearly 3yo will go another 2 inches, he is 16.3hh and will end up 17.1 hh, which is same height as mum. We bought a 15.3hh 3 and a 1/2 yo a while ago and he is now 17.1hh! - so who knows! hee hee! sorry!

Well she is fed according to condition - spring, summer and early autumn its just a handful of chaff and a few carrots, from around start of Nov to April she gets conditioning mix too to keep the weight on. Other than that its hay and grass!

Spring grass has definately given her a growth spurt - once this bag of mix is gone she can go onto pasture mix for a month and then just chaff!

I think the ones thats grow alot at this age are the ones that aren't fed particularly well. The pictures I have seen of her she looks fairly mature and therefore I would think she wouldn't grow a huge amount more - but a few more inches never the less! I look like a pee on a drum on my 3yo- so I can feel the same pain!!!!!!!!

Oh well - I always said if she went over 16.2hh we'd have a go at side saddle at some point, just didn't ever think that she would!

aarrghh, I wanted a small horse so bought a 15.2 2 year old!!! If he grows to 17.1 I will faint!!

Looking at pics from then now - it was obvious how much growing he had to do. Also was in his breeding. our 19 month old filly is already 15.3hh. I personally prefer big horses - they make big fences look so much smaller! Is very dependent on how well they have been fed.

Aleeta was 15.1hh when I bought her at 2 1/2 in November. She is 3 in June and is just over 16hh. Measure from horses elbow to fetlock then use this measurement to go from elbow to withers this will give you eventual height of horse. This makes Alee 16.3hh which is what I was aiming for

A friend bought a 3 year old hanoverian december before last she was 16.1hh and is now 17.2hh

. I suppose what I am trying to say is you never can tell!!!

difficult to tell. My boy will be 5 in may and he's grown from 14.1hh to 15.1hh since last March so i'm wondering how bog he will get too!

The bad news is that I think you have the potential for her to grow another hand!

The good news is that there's nothing like riding a big orse

Well G has grown an inch and a bit since I brought him as a 3 year old. My saddler and back person both think he has got another inch or 2 in him, he is 5.....

my 5 yo was 15h when i got him in Jan last year - he is now 15.3 and a half and the spring grass has sent him croup high again so i believe he will deffo make the 16/16.1 mark...

He has also filled out a huge amount and is twice as wide as he used to be.....

dear god my mum will not be happy if my boy grows any more, he's definitely croup high again and going through his funny moods that he has when he's having a growth spurt! I don't mind him growing tho
