i have been asked to help someone teach there horse boundaries and teach them how to keep her in control ( she has been walking all over them since they brought her in december) they told me to tell them how much i want for teaching them but i have no idea what to ask. i would rather charge per session than per hour.

Hmm thats an odd thing to charge for, im suprised they offered money! I have no idea, i help people out all the time with their problems and just get them to buy me a drink/give me chocolate/make me dinner (but then i am a student!) so a 5er a lesson (ish) possibly? Are they on the same yard as you? if not you could charge petrol as well.

Id say more than a fiver, are they friends though? Because really it should be near on the same as a riding lesson, thats exactly what they're getting out of it.

no they are not on the same yard, they offered to pay me and they know i don't have a job and an struggling to a) to keep 2 horses and b) to loan one of them out.

Yes, I agree that a 'handling lesson' is equivalent to a riding lesson. You are still teaching them skills to use to improve the connection between them and the horse. Go for slightly cheaper than the average lesson in your area.

thank you, i think i will ask for £15 a session (cheaper if less than an hour) that will cover my petrol and give me some money towards my horses
