How much piriton?

I have just decided my mare is suffering from hayfever so I have bought some honey and piriton but dont know how much piriton to give her. Many thanks in advance. BTW I have bought the syrup.

Go and ask your vet-why have thye not been out to diagnoise what I assume is a horse with runny nose/eyes? Do NOt just give yuor horse proprietary drugs without consulting your vet.

^ don't get piriton, get the generic drug- chlorphenamine maleate, should be able to buy it in your local chemist- only available in the tablet form though.

Well my vet prescribed our boy 12 piriton tablets to be taken all at once for a few days!! I ended up buying the syrup & just chucking a splash in his feed. Prob not the best idea but it worked

u can get generic chlorpheniramine syrup in pharmacys bit it is half strength of tabs so u'd need 2 use lots & wud work out expensive. Wot bout crushing tabs & mixing in feds bit only if vet recommends.

Friend had her vet out yesterday and he told her to buy chlorophenamine maleate from pharmacy

My cob has 3 tablets morning and 3 evening, i just cut an apple in half, score it and push the tablets in. He eats the apple no fuss and he is usually atrocious when it comes to taking any medication, always views it as poison!
