How much provision for box rest/illness/recuperation, etc

For those of you on livery (and livery owners too I guess), I just wonder how much provision there is on your yard to accommodate serious injury or illness to a horse that might require box rest, special arrangements in terms of turnout, etc? Do you have/offer, for example, a starvation paddock available for a horse that may be in recovering stages of laminitis, or small turnout areas for horses recovering from lameness, surgery, periods of box rest for when they can start having small scale turnout but without being out in a big group or large field where they may charge about and do more damage to themselves?

I help at a yard who do liveries, and we had a sandschool that we let laminetics get turned out in- theres a small amount of grass that ponies can reach through the fence, depending on how stretchy their necks are! We have 3 different sized fields (its not a huge yard, so not loads of turnout) but one small round-ish paddock with loads of grass, but the ground is lovely and its not at all stony, we have a fairly small square-ish shaped paddock, with lots of lovely grass, but its used for people who ave individual turnout, and we have the main feild- its quite big, its on a slope so the bottom gets all boggy when its wet, but theres trees for natural shelter and stuff, and w have a group of about 4 turned out in there.
We also have spare boxes that stay spare until they are needed, so if there is a horse on box rest without turnout, we can just slowly move them into the box next door for a night bed, and back for a day bed, gives them a change of scenery and helpskeep it a bit cleaner

Hi, I am a YO and I would do anything to accommodate a sick or recuperating horse whether it was mine or one on livery. Is this not part of the whole horse package? You can not just choose to have livery horses that are fit and well. I treat every one of the horses on my yard as if it were my own.

I am on a very small DIY yard. It is really lovely, I am very happy there & horse very settled. But it is really not set up to accommodate injured or recuperating horses in any way.

We are very lucky to have a wonderful, well-equipped full livery yard close by. If my horse is ever sick or injured, I would find the money to stable her there during her recovery. It is £££ though!

In an ideal world though, our own yard would be better set-up...
