how much reflock sddle

as above quoted £100, thought it was bit expensive, its nice stubben but not new and wondering if its worth reflock as might not fit in year when he changes shape (5 yrs old and just backed ) .Probably more work involved than I think :confused::)
 
Mine was £40 for the call out and £50 for the reflock, it hasn't had any problems... Where are you based and I might be near you, PM? The saddler is a well known, very good lady who is familiar around horses etc.
 
There's a "flock up" which is usually an adjustment to the flocking, whether it be adding or taking away and there's a "reflock" which is all the old flock out and completely replaced by new, mostly done in workshop but can also be done on site, mainly performed on an older saddles or saddles with lumpy or hard panels.
Which one are you on about?
The reflock is obviously more expensive as it requires more work, Oz
 
Complete reflock I realise all stitching has to be redone but I just paid £100 for call out and adjustment to gullet on adjustable which also needs point strap.The saddle in question might be too narrow in 6 months when he has some shoulder.
In all it will be £100 call out and extras £100 reflock £30 plus point straps .
 
Blimey! I just paid £25 including a check to see if more is required in a few weeks (which it is - she's doing it tomorrow! :D) There's no call out charge as she is an instructor at our yard and comes every weekend anyway - but I still think that's really reasonable.
 
Does seem a little steep,
I stopped doing fitting, flocking and repairs in April after 24 years of doing it so I could just manufacture saddlery etc instead but here are the prices I was charging in April this year to give you a rough guide, hope it helps:

Reflock £57.50
Flock up £30.00 including fitting to horse and rider
Point straps added which are rawhide £26.00 sorry that should be £13.00 not £26.00 was looking at wrong part of price list!
Call out up to 10 miles £10.00 there after 50 p per mile
All work carried out on site

Thanks adjustable saddle has been sent in for point straps but might look at other fitters for reflock ,i thought it was rather expensive.She is very good but I dont have money to waste especially with new horse ,rebacking saddles ,shoes dentist ,vets fees jabs etc :eek::D
 
Having had an awful old saddle to fully reflock which took me nearly 90 minutes and a strained back to simply remove the old flocking, I stand by my subsequently increased (by only £5) charge of £90!
