How much salt is too much

Our mare loves her Himalayan salt lick to the extent that it's probably only going to last her a month. I'm wondering if I should limit her access to it or not. She's not showing any adverse effects. Thanks

If your mare is just having the lick and she loves it, I would say she doesn't have enough in her diet.

This, if she is using it a lot give her some salt in her feed every day, one of mine used to start using his lick excessively, normally in hot weather and once given extra salt daily would slow down, they cannot really get enough from a lick and it takes a lot of effort for little gain.

My PSSM horses get 30g (ish) added to their feed every day on vet instruction. I doubt your horse can get that much off the lick because horses tongues aren't that abrasive.
