For a 3 yo 14-14.2hh native (pref connemara) no fancy breeding required, but nice moving, good tempered, unbroken and unspoilt?

And where should I look for something like this?? Are sales a no-no?

I don't know much about pony prices but have bought 3 year olds at sales before and wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

As long as they are unbroken, well handled (or not handled at all), come with an independent vetting and you take bloods then I don't see a sale as being any riskier than buying privately - you can be fleeced either way!!

Connemaras are pretty expensive. Youd be looking 4000euro (£2500+) for a well broke 3-4yo. If you want a good one, the best place is to go to Clifden Connemara sales in the West of Ireland, but many dealers buy Connies from Ireland and export them to GB. Just be aware that they are out to make a profit, so often buying them from the source is that bit cheaper. Im sure there are similar sales for the native British sales, but afraid since I dont live in GB I cant be of much help.
