I know this is a difficult question to answer without seeing my cats, but I would like a rough guide as to what to feed them.

My girl is 5.1kg but is a small build and my boy is 7.6kg! But is a big build.

They both indoor cats and need to lose weight.

They currently have approx 30g applaws in the morning each, then half a pouch of natures menu each for dinner the 30g each of applaws at bedtime.

They have only been on applaws a week, they were on science plan until I realised what crap is in it!

Would it be better to switch the morning dry for another half a pouch as it contains more water and therefore is less calorific?

It's such a minefield trying to work out what's best!

I don't want to feed them too little incase they get the liver condition associated with weight loss (can't remember the name).

To be honest i would cut out the lunch do one fed biscuits the other dry and also try to get them playing to loose weight.
My cats are outdoor although stay in lots, they have a bowl of biscuits to pick from and get a pouch each in evening but they are small and very energetic so even when in they don't stay still long.
The other aren't greedy but i find having option of biscuits all day means they pick but prob eat less than with strict meals obviously depends on how greedy they are!

I've got a tubby boy here that needs to lose weight as well, think he was 6.6kg yesterday when vet came.

Wet food - I feed the Feline Fayre pouches, 60% meat and only 1%-2% fat.
I'm happy with these.
(bought from asda, morrisons, b+m, home bargains, the feline fayre website)

Dry food is an absolute nightmare with him as he will throw up pretty much anything.
He gets the Go-cat Indoor biscuits which he is fine on, give him the go-cat neutered biscuits (less fat content) and he ends up hoicking his guts up
Such a delicate soul .. LOL

Plus I need a dry food that can be fed to 4 other cats as well so a general all rounder that won't break the bank when I need to buy it .. Doesn't help that one cat here will only eat biscuits, she just does not do wet food at all.
