How much for these ponies...?

Hawhill Firelight
Registered New Forest, two year old gelding. (Born May 2005)
Dark Bay/ Liver. To make 14.2HH. Lovely quite obediant pony. Catch, load, tie up, pull, feet, traffic etc. Ready (I am going to start) Long reining, lunging etc and break next year. Will make lovely PC, RC pony.

Grand Sire - Maytree Sultan

Sire - Bransgore Sovereign II

Grand Dam - Bransgore Melody

Grand Sire - Bramble Hill Beechwood

Dam - Hawhill Bunny

Grand Dam - Hawhill Honey

And...

Forest Consequence
Unreg Shetland (Haven't measured him yet but around 30in) Chestnut with flaxen mane and tail. Stallion (Considering gelding what would he be worth gelded and untire?) Four years old. Broken to ride. Catch easily, tie him up and happily stands to be fussed with having feet done etc. Loads. Fine with traffic. Doesn't bite, kick, boshy, rear etc. Lots to character.

Sorry rubbish photos, but to give you an idea.

£500 tops for the NF (and that is taking it that the breeding is outstanding). The Shettie should be gelded ASAP - unreg'd means it should not be breeding! Difficult to put a price on him without knowing how he is with weeny kids - but £300 - £400 tops.

Depending on where abouts you are the country, I'd say for the NF - £200 - £400?

unregistered shetland - I think you might find it tough to find any decent buyer willing to pay much for this one as they will already be looking at paying for an immediate castration. Not sure how much that is these days in England but allowing for it, I'd say you'd be lucky to get £100?

I'd say about £400 - £500 for the NF (who is lovely BTW) and £200 - £300 for the shetland. Get him gelded ASAP though, he's unregistered so no point keeping him entire and will put buyers off if entire.

i went to a sale last weeked and he had wild 4 month old moorland ponies, he said that they were shetties but he was lying, and he was asking £250 each!!!

so that says something

i'd say that rosie and jim was about right

xxx

yep!! the 2 he sold to the gypsies then had them forsale for £500 each!! i dont know if they sold them!!

the bloke that brought them down with him from bodmin is a horrible man, he had a load of other petrified ponys in the trailer that were bigger than the others, they all had tags in their ears. scared stiff.

The new forest is lovely, but wont really be worth anything untill he is broken and going, unles you show him and start winning! between £700 and £1,000 i should think at mo.
