how much show I pay

Was wondering what I should pay for an eventer. I'm looking for something real nice quality, brave with a good jump? How much would you expect to give with something with a good PN record and how much for a 4/5 yr old with a little bit of experience?

my friend has her horse for sale, he's 9 (i think!) done pre novice and a couple of novices, and he is up for £15000!!! i thought this a little excessive myself, but then i have no experience of buying eventers, so im not sure!

prices are a bit mental at the moment, i think. a few good novice placings = £15-£20k. no guarantee that the horse is going to go Intermediate, and enjoy it, let alone any further.
but then there's lovely 4 and 5 year olds with good breeding that have jumped a crosspole at home and move nicely, for £12k... unbelievable, really.
mind you, asking it, and getting it, are quite different...
