Have been looking for horses and found a 15.1 6yr romanian cob mare.
had a couple of foals, only used as a happy hacker at the moment. rode in a loosering snaffle, lives out. been loose jumped - around 3ft 6in
a little underweight and a bit bolshy of the ground due to very inexperianced owners.

Just wondering how much she would be worth and what offer to put in?

Cheers

Jo

Not very good at prices but I wouldn't pay more than £1500 for described horsey

I think so. She comes from a dealer selling on behalf of a friend. too inexperianced and let her get away with things. She has now bought a 14.2 so dont think any of tack would fir anyway.

As I have said in my other post PLEASEEEEEE think about what you are doing - this is not a horse I would touch with a barge pole, and sounds a orld away from riding/pony trekking types that you say you are used too.

I really hope you consider your options further before buying something that is going to be a battle and therefore make you uninterested...

Out of interest, how old are you

Im 22.

I appreciate your concern and hope that whatever route I decide to take that help and advice would always be available.
However no-one kows that much about each other on her and their experiance etc. I feel ready for this extra training and schooling and am ready to take on the responsibility

I am going to see the mare on Sat urday but am taking my mum with me

I would value her at about £1500 if she was pretty and well put together (more scope to be a broodmare).

If she was just your normal cob looks wise then £1000.

I also agree with feufolet, like I also said in the other thread, be careful not to overhorse yourself.

There are far too many horses ruined by people with the best intentions, if I were you, after such a long break I would buy a safe schoolmaster type happy hacker, even the quietest horse has its little quirks, then if you feel like you can cope with that and want more of a challenge, then get something a bit different.

You wre looking at ex racers earlier and this cob is a mile away from them.

Ive worked at a point to point yard, with youngsters, problem horses, racehorses, hunters, and untouched horses, seen every aspect of the training breaking in etc, but I wouldnt class myself as capable to retrain an exracer or problem horse myself.

I know your mum has lots of experience but that is her experience not yours, please see lots of horses and try them out so you get a feel for what you can cope with and what is too much for you.

Good luck
