I have a 14h 5yr welsh who needs a quiet, confident rider which i dont have, he lunges and long reins lovely, is a poppet to handle, good to box and travel, and with his feet (is unshod at mo), he is a project for someone and i will be putting him on project horses.
His prob is that he will ride fine for days then something will spook him and he sits down and shoots forward and will take off, but not a bolt, he has self preservation and does stop, he did this with my daughter and she came off when he stopped at the fence, it knocked her confidence quite a bit and she is now a bit twitchy about getting back on him.
He hasnt been ridden now for about 6mths although he has been lunged or long reined most days.
Its been a long time since i sold anything and have no idea what to ask for him that is realistic given his problem, so what would you think given not much is selling at mo that he would be worth?

his only problem is he is young and green, and your daughter is twitchy about getting on and setting the boundaries!you could ride him yourself! you would spend your money well to send him to a good breakers yard for a few weeks and get him going prior to sale, and sell him from there! otherwise in an open crap market about 200 to 300 pounds unless of exceptional quality and breeding.

Thanks for the replies, Ofcourseyoucan, i couldnt ride him as im the wrong side of 50, not riden in ages and if i hurt myself iv no one to to pay my bills lol.

So i would prob be best to just put him on for sensible offers and see what happens.
