As it says in the title really - the chap who owns the ground where I keep my horse wanted dropping off at the meet 5 miles away , I had to pick the trailer up from home and drop it off again so all in all about 20 miles round trip - I keep my horse at his farm on field keep and in return i manage his one hunter for him but do get paid well for extras clipping riding etc - Any Ideas ?

If it was me, I'd get the chap to wack the fuel into the tank and leave it at that. I'm sure in the future you could ask a favour back? Like checking on your horse?

Thanks the only thing with that is I think it is possibly going to become a regular arrangement and as I have to be at the yard to muck out and feed after dropping my Little one off at nursery at 8 am it does not really give me enough time to work my horse before I have him on the road for a 10.45 meet SO yes i do agree if it was a one off I would just ask for a bit of diesel but as it is probably not a one off and it almost takes up a whole morning I feel I need a bit more as time is short and I have to pick Little one up again at 1pm ... Its a Tricky one I think .

Is there any way you could store the trailer at his? In a barn etc? Maybe the storage and him giving you say £10 fuel, as it would be less miles if you didnt have to collect the trailer from home.

Its awkward!

ps Just read that you get 'well paid' for other extras, so perhaps he wouldnt mind £20 a pop! You know farmers they have a stash under the mattress!

Might be worth keeping an eye out for the old 'Hire and Reward' arguement - I would hate your insurance company to quibble - or if heaven forbid something happen...

I would probably try to keep the trailer at his - there isnt too much season left - So hopefully shouldnt be too often.
