i have a 9 year old, 14.1 haflinger mare.
who is currently being kept in a stable, and out in a a sandpaddock during the day.
she is over weight, i just want to work out how much i should be feeding her.

i normally give her 2kg of hay in the morning.
3kg for lunch
and 3kg for dinner
and 2 kg of horse and pony mix.
she doesnt get out to grass eveyday as she blows up easily but goes out tp the paddock and gets rode 5/6 days a week, some days hacking, flat work and maybe 2 days jumping.

how much should i be feeding her.
she weighs 382 kg.
any advise would help xD

I'm not sure about the weights of hay as I don't weigh mine but I go by sections. She is the same height and weight as my mare so I would do this...

Fill a haylage net the night before with approx 4 sections. Then soak the hay overnight and give it to her in the morning. Also soak another 2/3 sections in a bucket. Top the net up when she needs it with these soaked sections from the bucket. Then at night time just top up with a couple of sections that haven't been soaked. By soaking over night you will have removed a lot of the calories from the hay.
Evening feed - Handful hi-hi lite, mug of mix and Benevit Advance vit and min suppliment.

Hope her diet goes well!!
