How much to muck out your horse??

OK quick straw poll for market rate:

How much for plain mucking out - just for the bed, nothing else like filling water, putting hay out etc.

If not on there let me know other amounts & if you choose per hour, how many boxes per hour you would expect!

I used to charge £5 per box for occasional/one-off mucking out.

This is actually in reference to mucking out 5 days per week for the entire winter, so regular work.

I put £8 per hour as that the going rate i was paid when i was working at hunters/livery yard 2 years ago, however at the moment I pay YO £7 per day for Full day care for one horse except riding (mucking out, rugs, hay, feed x2 day, water, full day turnout, apply sudocrem, general check and they make sure my bay is filled with hay and straw for me when i am about

Ahh then I did Full/Part Livery for them and charged a set price per month.

I was paid 3 quid a box when I looked after my friend's lot!

I pay £4 for a full muck out, water change and haynet up (if it is pre made up), That is a service on a d.i.y box.

At our yard, its 50p to have horse in/out. £2 for whole box mucked out. You get £3 extras included each week on DIY @ £90 per month

I'm paying £3 per day at the mo, but that includes a night net and water bucket, but she is a mate and I rug and chuck her horse out in a morning for her.

I help at a yard down the road, get paid £10 p/h but do 6 boxes in that time.

suppose it depends how filthy your horse is and type of bedding mine is on rubber matting and takes approx 3 mins so wouldnt want to pay £3, but he gets done by me

We charge the DIY's £3 for a muck out TO is £1 which is bringinging in and turning out. For a whole day Full livery we charge £6 as it includes 2 muck outs if your horse is in, hay topped up all day, water and feeds

My girls get £15 to muck out about 9 stables at the weekend. They are very dirty though as the owner only does the bare minimum during the week.

If I was taking on a private person to help with my horses I would expect to pay NMW plus reasonable travel costs.

When I had my horse at livery we paid £5 per day for everything except riding.
