Really sweet welsh type pony lives in a field near me. Owner forgets to feed it, etc, so every now and again there is a crisis and we have to do something about it.

Was thinking of offering to buy pony, have someone who will break it & compete it this summer and then try and find a lovely home for it

Pony is good looking, about 9, and a chunky welsh type 12.2hh. Has really nice nature but has never done anything apart from live in it's field. Oh it can jump as has jumped out of field on occasion when hungry.

Owner is greedy and a bit odd, so he probably won't sell, but would love to see this pony have a good life. How much would you guess is worth a) unbroken and b) broken and competing (chunky enough to take light adult happily).

Not alot either way. Plenty supply of 12.2's about, let alone green older ones sadly. No offense!

If you wanted it for yourself, then I'd say go for it for nominal price....but for resale? Nope. I'd pass.

Personally id off 300 -350 max, tell him you have cash on you right this second if he will sign pony over and give you bill of sale. may just sway him.

You can not give away some horse/ponies at the moment so £150. tops, as for selling on broken, you wouldnt get your money back with your time and expences, but if you want it for your self its worth as much as YOU want to pay.

I would offer about £250 for it. As it is unbroken and 9 years old it is a very late starter, and may well put off future buyers when they find out it was broken in so late as it will still be green.
