How Much to Offer?

My other half has taken quite a shine to a horse we saw the other week & on asking how much they wanted they have asked us to make an offer. We are both useless at this sort of thing, i don't want to insult them but i also don't want to pay over the odds. Hes a 2yr old gelding, standing around 15hh at the moment, 3/4 highland & a 1/4 Clydesdale. Hes not had a huge amount of handling either. Any ideas please

In the current climate with the lck of hay situation I'd offer somewhere around 700 quid unless it was stunning, what was it advertised at?

Thanks rangerover, he wasn't actually advertised, we went to pick a puppy up from the lady who owns him & she was showing us her horses ...as you do, & we spotted him then, so she really doesn't have a clue what to ask as she hadn't thought about selling him, shes knows horses prices are bad at the moment so i don't think she would want silly money for him.
