I have two stables on a private yard to rent and I am wanting to know how much to charge.

It is a small show yard which contains a total of 8 stables.

Price would include a brand new Martin Collins arena, a small lunge arena, personal use of field with 3 railed post and rail fencing, parking for trailer/small lorry, good hacking and would include haylage and bedding. Also the yard is totally secure with 24 hour supervision and secured electronic gates.

It would be on a DIY basis but there could be some assistance negotiated.

I was thinking around £200 per month per stable but is this too much/too little?

I want someone who is clean and tidy and someone who is trustworthy so trying to price it right.

I'd bite your hand off for that price, I was paying £212 per horse and that only included haylage, however it was ad lib. We had a crappy un maintained school and a walker always full of poo and frozen in the winter!!

Think it will depend on where you are in the country as to me that seems bit steep but depends on what hay, bedding was provided and what turnout.

As comparison I pay £20 a week for 20x60 outdoor, round pen, private 3 acre field, adlib hay/ haylage included, farm ride, decent hacking

But then I have two horses so anything much more than £20/25 would be way to pricey for me.

Sure lots will be waiting at your door!

It is in Berkshire.

I feed haylage and not hay and bedding would be shavings or hemp or something like that.

It is a yard to die for and just my private show horses and ponies.

I just have two unused stables and have to somehow pay for my brand new arena :)

Yeah I definately think it depends on location, but if I were situated near you I too would bite peoples hands off to stable my mare there! Shes a flashy welsh d who i'd love to show in the near future after her sucess in the show ring as a filly so would be constantly badgering you for help lol!
£200 sounds about right in my opinion, to compare, my mare is kept at a DIY yard in north London (when i say yard its a dairy farm first and foremost and horses are an after thought) with a miniscule arena, some hacking and good summer turnout and I pay £70 a month just for box rent and grazing. Thankfully the farmer provides hay and straw for reasonable price (although still cant believe i'm paying £4.50 for a bale of hay compared to about £3 last winter) so comes to about £140 a month in winter though I would definately pay more for the facilities you mentioned!!!
Hope you find someone lovely to rent your boxes off you!

I pay £40 per week for similar, but that includes poo picking and rug checking/changing and feeding (I provide feed)

your small private yard is now going to change to a small commercial yard. you will need to upgrade your insurance to commercial, and your rates to business! but 50 to 60 per week is a reasonable charge. will it cover your expenses, your raised insurance and rates and your inconvenience???

Hi, I know this was a long time ago but any chance you still do something like this, we are looking for something private to keep ourselves to ourselves as fed up of livery yard politics.
Thanks
