Hi. We went to look at a horse today near Oswestry and really like him. Subject to a 5 stage vetting we need to get him to Devon. Can you recommend transport companies or any that might have shared loads?
You could start from your end, see if any firms your way have any northern trips coming up that you could be picked up on their return trip or use someone from near here.
There's ACE Horse Transport based near Stafford; have used Kate myself and can highly recommend her; they do have a website.
Also Boothroydens from Manchester, used them a fair bit too, always reliable with nice wagons and drivers.
Otherwise have a look on the findhorsetransport (or sounds like that!) site or in the back of H & H too.
Sorry forgot, you'd probably be looking at about £250 upwards; I was charged £200 for Malpas (not far from Oswestry) to Glastonbury not long ago.
Not sure how much it would cost but I'd highly recommend Kate at Ace Horse transport, we've used her a few times and she's lovely, really good with the horses (even the bouncy ones ), she's a really careful driver and the horsebox is lovely! They travel backwards, it's got a fan etc to keep the horse comfortable and she can see through the back of the cab to the horse to check on it all the time and chat to it through the window. Adam Gibson from Adam Gibson horse transport is fantastic and is very reasonably priced. He was fantastic when moving my cob from Sussex to Devon, and he'll be bringing him back again in a few weeks. Really good chap. I have a phone number somewhere if you'd like it? x
