My horse is 6 years old, she is 15.2hh and is a TB how much could she comfortably carry?

I am looking for a sharer for her and just want to make sure im not putting anyone too heavy on her

Thanks

It depends on the horse/rider combination.

I have a lightweight TB and she carries me easily (11st....on a diet though!!)

I would say no more than 10 stone? If it's a fine TB anyway, like my old 'un was. If it's a bit heavier, like my more recent TB, then maybe 12 stone?

Are you serious?!!!! I am 5ft 6, size 10/12 and always somewhere between 10st 3 and 10 st 6. Av is a 15.1 fairly fine but well muscled ex-flat racer...I have had her for 4 years and have seen no detrimental effects of my weight on her at all. I have well fitting tack and have her back checked regularly. We are currently eventing at Intro working towards Prenovice. We have a go at pretty much everything and she will hunt all day. I have some pics on my profile area.

It is true that I am on the large side on fine for her, but I honestly think that depending on the combination 10st + is fine for light TB's. After all she carried 9.5 st regularly when racing (albeit for short periods! :-D).
