Just curious :) and feel free to add your own photos too :D

Three situations :)
1. A novice type for a walk/trot.
2. Regular ridden work in w/t/c and a few jumps etc.
3. (not that he will) but event style work (eg lots of canter and gallop and jumping).

And no comments on weight please, I know he is fat, something is being done :o

Eta: he's 15.2hh, takes a 6ft 3" length rug (but needs a 6ft 6" because of his chest) and has somewhere between 8 1/2-9 1/2" bone, can't remember off the top of my head.

He has lots of bone, strong looking horse, decent conformation.
So I think that unless someone looked overly large on him I wouldn't be too worried about weight! Looks like a lad who would take the vast majority of people without any struggle for all activities. I probably wouldn't mind putting a 20stone person on for your pootling about, but i don't think he would struggle carrying 15-17stone for fast work provided he was used to carrying it-as he is such a solid type.

Firstly, he's lovely! I like a lot.

Weight wise, my comment would be that I think he looks a little short in the back (just an observation, not a conformational fault as such), so wouldn't be able to put a big saddle on him, therefore your real larger person wouldn't really feel comfortable on him I'd have thought and you'd also be putting a lot of weight on a small area.

Thank you for the replies :D

He does have quite a short back considering his size. He currently has a 17.5" saddle, but I may well get a 17" when I get a new one if my bum fits :p He does look short in that photo, he doesn't look quite so short when he's slimmer :p

Btw, I'm just over 13st :)

Funny you should say that! I've noticed (although may be the riders themselves) but he appears to respond a lot better to a rider with a bit of weight  :p

I do worry at times that I'm too heavy but I know he's capable :o

No way are you too heavy! :) He looks like he could take around 15 stone! He's lovely by the way! xx
