Hi everyone, I have got a bit of a dilema and I wondered if anyone could give me some advice on pricing my filly correctly. I have a gorgeous bay tobiano filly that I need to put up for sale through personal circumstances. My filly is out of a Shaab mare by Thomas of Givendale and was bred by the Pferde Stud. My filly is currently 15.1 hh @ 16 months old. She has amazing movement defiantely dressage/eventing potential, She moves straight and has no hang ups at all. She has walked out in traffic and totally bombproof, feet trimmed, rugged, bitted, mane and tail pulled etc. She is passported with verified breeding with chaps, microchipped, wormed and injections all up to date. A stunning filly that should make over 16.2 hh. I would really like some advice please on the best place to advertise her and what price I should be selling her for.

Many thanks

Dave

How old is your filly? What is her breeding?

This really is a difficult question...... I can get an AES pink papered registered weanling with very good showjumping breeding for about £1500 - a 2yo for about £1500-£2500 or a 3yo for around the £3k mark - all are untouched. My friend breeds horses for dressage and showjumping and they are all very well bred warmbloods (she sells at these prices to everyone, I can't get one cheap coz I know her:))

The fact that she is well handled is a plus, but personally I prefer them unhandled, as do many people.

Thank you Dana Hart. She is 16 months old and by a Shaab mare byt thomas of Givendale who is a traditional stallion who resides at the Pferde stud and costs £500 covering fee. Shaab has produced many good eventers and my filly's half brothers have just started to event. She is Bay Tobiano and very nicely marked and very pretty.

Thanks

Dave

Oops... missed the 16 months old in your original thread.......

Shaab Mare? What breed? Your filly, is she a Cob x ?

If I were selling atm, I would use Horsemart, Horse Deals and Horse Quest

Thank you guys for your advice. i didn't realise about the conditions. I'm not advertising her for sale I just wanted advice on pricing properly.

Many thanks

Dave

Look through the various websites (horsemart, horsequest, horsedeals, H&H etc...) and look at the prices of similar youngstock. Ignore the dirt cheap and obviously overpriced ones and you should get a fair idea of a price for her. Also look at getting really nice photos of her that show her conformation. :)

Thats a nice cross.... she sounds like a lovely little horse.

With regards to price.... I would put her up for around the £2k mark, seeing as she is coloured, and will make a decent size - if she is sweet and well mannered she should sell quite easily..... However, I would be flexible on the price.....
