How much would people pay....

i think people will still ring and say that they like but don't have 10k and would i mind them coming to see him and they had budget of 8k etc- i think at least this way you don't get the people who only want to pay 5k ringing up- i had tonnes of phone calls about mine- lots of PC mums who wanted something sane and safe for intro level stuff- i was a bit too honest about mine (he did have a pretty bad nap about him when he wanted to) and really wanted him to go to a dressage home rather than an eventing one...but i would def recommend some BD affil- that way you are not talking 'potential' but facts....and a good plan re the intro as a lot of PC mums will be happy if can take little robbie around an intro safely...its amazing how much they will pay for safe and pretty

I sold a horse a couple of years ago who sounds very simular to your horse. He was a real good safe allrounder but was a bit older (9y.o). He had a good PN record (a win and some good placings) and had schooled round Novice courses easily but would never make the time. So I sold him as a RC type - put him up for £7250 on the thurs night and had a queue of people who wanted to come and see him. He was sold subject to vetting to the first people who came to see him by the saturday afternoon.
The people who I had to ring and cancel all sounded really gutted and said that if there was any change to ring them asap, (one lady was willing to drop everyrthing and drive down from Scotland to where I am in Worcestershire to see him). Ive never known anything like it! I thought I was asking a bit on the steep side, but in hind sight I could have prob got away with putting him up for more.

The people who brought him had been looking for 5 months and had been all over the country and had been looking at horses more expensive than him, they said that they had really struggled to find anything that was genuine and safe and that hardly anything was as advertised. I know the current market is not as good as it was was but I found (all be it fro my limited experience with this) that people will pay a premium for something that is safe and reliable that they can just go and enjoy.

I have kept in contact with the ppl who had him (who are lovely) and the perfect home for him and they are doing exactly what I sold him for (RC and PN) and they adore him.

I know mine is only a one of experience and I was probably very lucky - but at the end of the day you can always lower the price if you get no intrest, but can't as easily put it up. Sorry its long!

Thanks guys, I was thinking of putting him up for 7.5/8k and accepting less. It wouldnt be the end of the world if he didnt sell tbh, so its kinda a see what happens.
